This page explains which data we process, why it is needed and which agreements apply when you contact us. For a project we record the full terms in a separate contract.
who we are.
Plaincode Digital is a Shopify studio and official Shopify Partner, based in the Netherlands. We are the data controller for anything you send us through this site.
privacy.
We collect as little as possible. This includes what you enter in the booking form and anonymous statistics about page views.
✸What we keep. Your name, email address, store address and the notes you send. We never request customer data from your own store through this website.
✸Why. To reply to you and, if we start working together, to draw up a contract and invoice. That's the whole list.
✸How long. Enquiries that go nowhere get deleted after twelve months. Client records are kept for seven years, as required under Dutch tax law.
✸Who else sees it. Our providers for email, calendar, scheduling and invoicing process data when their service requires it. We do not sell or share information with advertisers.
✸Your rights. Ask for a copy, a correction, or a deletion, and you'll have it within thirty days, usually the same week. An email is enough, no form required.
✸Under NDA. If we're working on your store, we'll sign whatever confidentiality agreement you use, and we only get production access through named accounts that you can revoke yourself.

The short version of what's in every contract. If there's a conflict, the signed document always wins.
✸Work and price. Fixed price per project, agreed in writing before we start. Want to add something along the way? It gets its own quote instead of a surprise on the invoice.
✸Payment. Fifty percent up front, fifty percent at launch and payment within fourteen days. Monthly work is invoiced at the start of the month.
✸Ownership. Everything we make for you is yours after the final payment. The work lives in accounts you control. There is no separate licence fee for using it.
✸Aftercare. Thirty days of free fixes on anything we built. Monthly work runs month to month and either side can stop with two weeks' notice.
✸Third parties. Shopify, apps, hosting and domains stay in your name and on your credit card. We never take over the accounts your business runs on.
✸Affiliate link. If you use our link to start a Shopify store, we may receive a commission. This does not increase the price you pay.
✸Portfolio. We like showing the work, with your name on it. Would rather we didn't? Say so and we won't. It costs us nothing to respect that.
